Teacher(s) - Modern Languages (French) (Winter 2024)

The college is seeking for full-time and part-time professors to teach within our Modern Languages department for the Winter 2024 semester.

602-CFV-HR Grammaire et rédaction (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab, and 3 hours of availability)
Ce cours intermédiaire s'adresse aux élèves qui ont réussi le 602-101-MQ et qui suivent le programme pré-universitaire. Il permet aux élèves d'améliorer leur français écrit afin qu'ils puissent mieux s'exprimer, de façon claire, précise et nuancée. Il vise également l'acquisition du vocabulaire spécifique au champ d'études.

602-CFX-HR Rédaction et lexicologie (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab, and 3 hours of availability)
Ce cours s'adresse aux élèves du secteur pré-universitaire qui ont réussi le cours 602-103-MQ Dans ce cours, les élèves pourront explorer la lexicologie générale, corriger les anglicismes, approfondir le vocabulaire propre à leur champ d'études et perfectionner leurs techniques d'écriture. L'accent est mis sur la qualité de l'expression écrite à l'intérieur de la production de différents types de textes.

602-UF1-MQ Poésie, théâtre et écriture (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab, and 3 hours of availability)
Ce cours amènera l'élève à interpréter des oeuvres poétiques et théâtrales d'expression française et québécoise dans le but de rédiger une dissertation critique complète. l'élève devra appliquer les règles de français nécessaires à l'écriture d'un texte.

602-CFA-HR Communication technique (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab, and 3 hours of availability)
Ce cours s'adresse aux étudiants des programmes techniques qui ont réussi le 602-101-MQ. Il comprend la révision de la grammaire, l'exploration du vocabulaire spécifique au champ d'études de l'élève ainsi que l'amélioration de la communication écrite.

602-CFW-HR Composition et terminologie (45 hours)
(2 hours of theory, 1 hour of lab, and 3 hours of availability)
Ce cours est destiné aux élèves du programme pré universitaire qui ont réussi le 602-102-MQ. L'accent sera mis sur la consolidation de la grammaire, sur l'analyse et la composition de textes et sur l'acquisition du vocabulaire relié au champ d'études.

ROLE SUMMARY
In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students' request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in French as a Second Language, in French Literature or in a related field, and a combination of industry experience related to the courses being taught.
  • Teaching experience would be considered an asset.
