CALL FOR CANDIDATURE
In order to provide support for its faculty, CÉGEP Heritage College is seeking to hire a Regular full-time Pedagogical Counsellor to join the Academic Services team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Academic Dean, the incumbent is involved in the coordination, design, development, and implementation of pedagogical activities, programs, and projects. Working in an advisory capacity with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders at the College, the candidate will provide guidance and trainings on pedagogical issues, such as curriculum and course design, incorporation of technology, program revision and evaluation, as well as best practices in teaching and learning. The candidate will collaborate on the administration of program management, ongoing program improvement and on the collection, analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data related to programs.

The candidate is expected to work independently as well as collaborate with three other Pedagogical Counsellors in the Teaching and Learning Centre.

  • Assist faculty, programs, and departments in carrying out their teaching responsibilities.
  • Consult with faculty on pedagogy related issues and provide them with best practice informed recommendations.
  • Prepare and facilitate professional development activities for faculty.
  • Advise faculty on curricular and course (re-)design.
  • Support faculty in Ministry of Education driven program revisions (analysis, development, implementation, evaluation, revision).
  • Promote and support faculty in pedagogical or disciplinary research.
  • Manage, implement, assess, and disseminate pedagogical projects.
  • Advise faculty on inclusive pedagogies and support their plans to make learning more relevant to students from various backgrounds and ways of living.
  • Compile, analyze and assess program and course success data, statistics, surveys, and reports relating to program management.
  • Provide annual program data and reports to the Academic Steering Committee and to each Program/Department Coordinator for annual and comprehensive program evaluations.
  • Develop and execute surveys to collect relevant information for annual and comprehensive evaluations in collaboration with the Academic Steering Committee.
  • Provide support to programs for their annual evaluations.
  • Coordinate different student-related portfolios such as: Recognized Acquired Competencies (RAC), Co-op (coordination of placement for students), and Student Mobility (local and international).
  • Monitor implementation of College's policies, particularly educational and research policies.
  • Assist in policy evaluation.
  • Lead or participate in College committees.
  • Perform outreach activities within CÉGEP/college/university networks.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Salary Range:

From a minimum of $ 54,661 to a maximum of $100,282 per year.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Schooling and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Master’s degree in related field would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (at post-secondary level would be an asset).

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual in both French and English (written, spoken, reading, and listening comprehension).
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Strong interest in reading, research, analysis, and writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire and ability to stay current on pedagogical innovations and best practices.
  • Strong capabilities for remote and onsite workshop facilitation with diverse clientele.
  • Solid knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative methods of relevance to learning analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Diligent, dynamic, creative, and detail oriented.
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to different situations.
  • Outstanding work ethic and ability to exercise discretion.
  • Strong Microsoft's Office suite software using skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital learning environments.
  • General understanding of CÉGEP system.
