New Leadership Team for Kinuso School

High Prairie School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris King as the new Principal and Yolande Klyne as the new Vice Principal of Kinuso School, effective for the 2024-25 school year. This new leadership team brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Kinuso School, reflecting the Division's commitment to excellence in education.


Chris King, formerly the Vice Principal of Kinuso School, has been promoted to Principal. With over 15 years of experience in the classroom and in school administration, Mr. King's career has spanned multiple provinces, including Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. He has a strong track record of enhancing the educational environment through innovative teaching methods and active involvement in school community activities. Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Education from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from McMaster University.

Yolande Klyne, currently a teacher at E.G. Wahlstrom School, joins Kinuso School as Vice Principal, bringing with her a diverse background in education spanning more than a decade. Ms. Klyne has recently completed her graduate studies in Education, Leadership, and Administration at the University of New Brunswick. Her extensive experience as an elementary teacher in various Alberta schools, combined with her dedication to all academic subject areas, art, and music, lays a solid foundation for her new role. Ms. Klyne's commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment aligns perfectly with the Division's mission and vision.

Superintendent Murray Marran expressed confidence in the new appointments, stating, "Mr. King brings to our Division experience building strong community relationships in rural and Indigenous communities. Further, Mr. King will be bringing renewed focus to academics and assessment practices at Kinuso School. Ms. Klyne has recently completed her graduate studies, and this is her first formal leadership position. We look forward to seeing Ms. Klyne's contributions to the community of Kinuso and how her foundational studies will translate into meaningful academic and community engagement."
