TO THE NORTHERN LAKES COLLEGE COMMUNITY
Dr. Sandy Vanderburgh Announces Resignation

February 10, 2023

Dr. Sandy Vanderburgh, Vice President Academic, announces resignation.

Dr. Vanderburgh states: "At this time, I want to thank Northern Lakes College for providing me with the opportunity to be a small part of such a great institution. I learned so much about how effectively the college provides online and hands-on education to such a vast region of Northern Alberta and how well our students are served by NLC's supported distance learning model. I clearly recall when President Mitchell was touring me around on my first day and he showed me the Mobile Trades Lab (MTL). At that point I knew that NLC really had put a lot of thought and resources into how to provide their students with great learning experiences no matter where they are."

"I won't forget the friendships I've made, and the chance to make a difference in the lives of our students has been extremely rewarding. I am also impressed with the College's focus on the success of its students, the dedication of the Senior Leadership Team, and the commitment of NLC employees. Northern Lakes College is a great family."

Vanderburgh notes how a recent familial change now requires him to be closer to home, and that this opportunity to serve at an institution in his hometown has come at the perfect time.

Vanderburgh has accepted the role of Vice President, Academic at a southern Alberta post-secondary institution.

"We thank Sandy for his work at the College and wish him all the best in his new role," comments, Dr. Glenn Mitchell, President and CEO, Northern Lakes College.
