Surrey students shine at Skills Canada BC Competition

April 30, 2024

Ten Surrey Schools students have new hardware for the trophy cabinet after medaling at the most recent Skills Canada BC Competition.

Held last week at the Tradex in Abbotsford, the annual event, now in its 30th year, sees students from around the province compete in trades-related competitions.

According to Martin Lim, Career Development Facilitator at Fraser Heights Secondary, Surrey Schools had 18 students competing across nine categories.

"All did very well in their trade area, and a few brought medals back to their school," he said.

Out of the 10 medalists from the district, three won gold in their respective trades and will move on to compete at the Skills Canada National Competition in Quebec City at the end of May:
