Students in the Douglas A. Smith Family School of Business at Cambrian College have once again proven they can compete with the best in the country.
Last weekend, second-year General Business students Marina Buey, Katelyn Whynott and Aryanna O'Malley again joined forces as Team Cambrian to take on schools from across the country at the Scotiabank Vanier College National Marketing Case Competition in Montreal.

Representing Cambrian were second-year Business students (left to right) Marina Buey, Katelyn Whynott, and Aryanna O'Malley. Whynott was a recipient of the Julia Ferreira Public Speaking Excellence Award.
Whynott was one of three winners of the Julia Ferreira Public Speaking Excellence Award. It recognized her outstanding communication skills and ability to deliver a compelling and persuasive presentation under pressure.
"I am truly honoured to have received the Julia Ferreira Public Speaking Award at the Vanier Marketing Competition," says Katelyn Whynott "Public Speaking has not always come easy to me and has been something that has pushed me outside of my comfort zone. However, with the amazing support I have received from my coaches, Kim Donaldson and Jade Kutchaw, and my teammates who supported and inspired me throughout this journey, I found the confidence to push myself to new heights. This award is not only a testament to my efforts but also a reflection of our collective hard work, dedication, and passion."
This isn't the team's first encounter with success. Last November, at the Ontario College Marketing Competition, Buey and O'Malley placed second in the Marketing Research category. Whynott placed fifth in the Job Interview category.
"This is our first visit to the Vanier College Marketing Case Competition, and it most certainly won't be our last," adds Kim Donaldson, Team Cambrian's coach and a Business professor at Cambrian College in Sudbury. "The team representing Cambrian College proved they had earned their place to compete against some of the top young marketing minds from across our country. Watching them grow in their abilities, not only rising to the challenge, but shining brightly on that national stage - as coaches, we could not be prouder of their preparation, dedication, and results."
