NAIT is pleased to welcome Patti Hergott as the polytechnic's inaugural associate vice-president, Academic Quality & Operational Excellence. Reporting to Peter Leclaire, vice-president Academic, Hergott will work to ensure exceptional learning experiences at NAIT and strengthen its position as a trusted industry partner.
Hergott brings more than 20 years of senior academic leadership experience, with an impressive track record in learner success, faculty engagement, quality assurance, program innovation and partnership development.
Most recently, she served as dean of Research and Academic Innovation at NorQuest College. Hergott led initiatives such as advancing applied research growth, launching the Institute for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and enhancing the impact and reputation of the Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership.
Previous to that, Hergott spent 10 years as dean of Business, Foundational Learning, Employment Training, Pre-Apprenticeship, as well as several Community Studies programs. She also oversaw the development of a centralized Work-integrated Learning department and advanced the college's inaugural strategic enrollment management plan.
Hergott joins NAIT at an exciting time, fresh from its reorganization into seven schools designed to tighten links to industry, improve collaboration across the polytechnic, and improve learning outcomes.
Hergott will begin her role at NAIT on Jan. 20, 2025.
