DSB1 Welcomes Christopher Gerosavas as Chief Financial Officer

District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Christopher Gerosavas, to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Acting Superintendent of Business, effective July 20, 2026.  

Mr. Gerosavas brings a wealth of diverse expertise spanning global financial management, strategic transformation, and firsthand experience within the Ontario K-12 education sector.

"I am delighted that Christopher has chosen DSB1.  His impactful leadership, commitment and energy will continue to help us improve on the corporate side of our organization" shared Chief Executive Officer Lesleigh Dye.

Mr. Gerosavas has held senior consulting and financial leadership roles with global organizations like IBM and Deloitte. His extensive background includes managing over $1B in annual revenue budget and capital assets for IBM's Personal Computing Division, as well as collaborating with the Ontario Provincial Controller Division on large-scale public sector budgeting transformations. Driven by a passion for systems-level progress in education, he later transitioned into the K-12 sector.

In his new role, Mr. Gerosavas will oversee the financial services, building services, and information services departments. In his work, he will ensure that the district's financial resources are optimized and intentionally directed to resources that support student learning and classroom success. By bridging business operations with educational outcomes, he will help advance the board's three strategic priorities: Achieve, Belong, and Create.

Mr. Gerosavas shared: "It is a privilege to join the DSB1 as Chief Financial Officer. I look forward to joining the Executive Council and partnering with staff and the broader community to ensure that resources are aligned with the Board's strategic priorities and invested in ways that support student achievement, fosters a strong sense of belonging, and inspires creativity and innovation that matters."
