Shufflebotham, who has a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, brings a wealth of experience to MHC. As the current provost at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), Shufflebotham has oversight of the institution's schools of business, health and life sciences, skilled trades and applied sciences and technology, as well as institutional research, registrar's office, recreation and athletics facilities, enrolment planning and other ancillary services.

Throughout the years, Shufflebotham has also held various senior appointments with NAIT including vice provost, interim dean for the School of Health and Life Science, interim dean of the JR Shaw School of Business, and chief of staff for the office of the president.

"We are excited to welcome Kevin Shufflebotham to Medicine Hat College.  He has an exceptional background in post-secondary education and roots in our community, as well as the Brooks area. He brings tremendous enthusiasm to everything he does. It also speaks well of the college and the city that he wants to be here," says Kelly.

Shufflebotham looks forward to joining the college and community.

"Medicine Hat College has a strong reputation for its focus on student success and serving the needs of the community. The opportunity to serve as president of this highly valued organization is a tremendous privilege."

In addition to working at NAIT, Shufflebotham served as director of operations with the office of the president at MacEwan University. He also held various management positions with the Government of Alberta's Ministry of Advanced Education, including senior manager for the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer (ACAT) and manager of business consultation.

Shufflebotham has a strong background in leadership and believes in building the capacity of his team to help meet the goals and strategic directions of the organization.
