SOUTHEAST COLLEGE
Southeast College Announces Strategic Changes to Moosomin Campus Operations

March 5, 2025

The college is announcing strategic changes to its operations at the Moosomin Campus to better utilize resources and enhance educational offerings. Effective July 1st, 2025, Southeast College will no longer operate a store front campus location.

Over the past two years, the Moosomin campus has been largely vacant, with the space being used for only 18 weeks each year for the Electrician program. The last staffed position at the campus was a part-time One-Stop Associate, and since the summer of 2023, the campus has been staffed on an as-needed casual basis.

The college will continue to offer part-time Early Childhood Education (ECE), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and various business and industry training classes in Moosomin utilizing rental and lease agreements where applicable. We will continue to explore full time post-secondary programs within the community and surrounding area.

The college plans to maximize the unutilized space at the Whitewood campus to house the necessary training equipment for the Electrician program that is scheduled for Winter 2026.

"The combination of economic challenges and declining student demand is the main reason for the change," states Interim President and CEO Jody Holzmiller. "Southeast College remains committed to the town of Moosomin and surrounding area, our intent is to continue to offer on demand programming for many years to come. We look forward to renewing community conversations that support our goal of increasing programming opportunities in the area."

Southeast College offers various programs both off and on campus throughout the southeast region of Saskatchewan. Southeast College is proud to offer innovative and flexible programming that encourages students to learn where they live.
