Willow River Public School set out with a simple but meaningful goal: to collect 350 food items, one for each student and staff member.

What unfolded was far more inspiring. The school community rallied together and donated over 2,400 items to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, showing the true power of collective action, generosity, and school spirit.
At the heart of this effort was the Grade 7 student leadership team, whose creativity and dedication shone throughout the campaign as they designed posters, delivered daily announcements, tracked progress, and built excitement through a friendly class contest, demonstrating how student leadership can inspire an entire community.
Way to go, Willow River!
