Northern Lakes College is pleased with the successful completion of the new student residence at the High Prairie Campus an exciting milestone that is already making a meaningful difference for learners in the region. With students moved in, the residence is now almost fully occupied, demonstrating strong interest and need for on-campus housing.
The new space was thoughtfully designed to support a total of 26 students and features 12 regular units and two barrier-free units. The inclusive design helps ensure a welcoming and accessible environment where students can feel at home while pursuing their studies.
Each regular unit is set up for shared living and comes furnished with two beds, a desk, and two wardrobes, offering students a comfortable balance of shared community and personal space. The two barrier-free units are designed for single occupancy, providing accessible and independent living options for students who require additional supports.
Beyond individual living spaces, the residence offers a range of shared amenities that enrich student life. These include a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a cozy TV nook, dedicated study space, and a spacious back deck. Together, these areas create opportunities for students to work, connect, collaborate, and unwind in a supportive and welcoming community.
The completion and operation of the High Prairie student residence reflects Northern Lakes College's ongoing commitment to reducing barriers to education particularly for learners from rural and remote communities. By offering convenient, on-campus housing, the College is helping students focus on their academic goals while enjoying a safe, comfortable, and community-centered living experience.
