The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the Definitely Durham Hall of Fame, a program that celebrates outstanding DDSB alumni who have made meaningful contributions in their careers and communities.
The Hall of Fame recognizes DDSB alumni who exemplify excellence, leadership, and have made a positive impact in their community. Through this program, DDSB highlights the achievements of former students who continue to inspire current learners.
"The Definitely Durham Hall of Fame allows us to honour the remarkable accomplishments of our graduates and share the stories that continue to shape our community," said Tracy Brown, Chairperson, Durham District School Board. "These individuals are a testament to what is possible when students are supported, encouraged, and empowered to pursue their goals."
Staff, families, community members, and alumni are invited to submit nominations for the 2025 Hall of Fame. Nominees must be former DDSB students who have achieved distinction in areas such as:
- Community Leadership exemplifying kindness, perseverance, respect, and integrity
- Professional Excellence achieving outstanding success in their field
- Representing diverse accomplishments in the Arts, Culture, Innovation & Athletics excelling in sport or sports leadership
- Public Service making a positive impact through civic or humanitarian work
Nominations can be submitted online at ddsb.ca/definitelydurham until July 15, 2026.
