Hawthorne Elementary students once again showed what it truly means to care for their community during the 3rd Annual Hawthorne Hikers for Delta Hospital 5 km Walk-a-Thon!
With energy, enthusiasm, and a shared goal, 10 classes from Grades 3 through 7 came together to raise an impressive $6,600. Their efforts will go toward purchasing a Computer on Wheels (COW) for Delta Hospital's Physiotherapy Department a vital tool that will help reduce wait times and allow for more personalized patient care.

More than just a fundraiser, the event highlighted the power of teamwork and compassion, as students took active steps literally and figuratively to make a difference in their community.
"Thanks again to Mrs. Erin McGill for organizing this wonderful initiative," said Principal Tricia Stec Skillings. "She is instilling in students the importance of giving back and proving that even small steps can lead to big impacts. Thanks to everyone who has supported this event over the years and helped make it such a success."
