Lakeland Catholic School Division (LCSD) is pleased to announce the approval and release of its Division Education Assurance Plan for the 2025-2026 school year. This comprehensive plan, approved by the Board of Trustees on March 19, 2025, outlines the Division's commitment to faith-based, student-centered education for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students.
The development of the 2025-2026 Division Education Assurance Plan was a collab- orative and data-informed process. LCSD undertook a thorough analysis of multiple data sources to ensure the plan effectively addresses the needs of its diverse student population and aligns with the priorities of its stakeholders. This robust approach in- cluded a careful examination of: Alberta Education Data, Local Data and the Education Assurance Survey.
This valuable input from students, parents, staff, and community members helped to identify priorities and shape the direction of the plan.
Rooted in Catholic values, the 2025-2026 LCSD Division Education Assurance Plan focuses on four strategic priorities:
- Catholic Christian Identity: Fostering a learning environment where students and staff experience growth in their faith understanding and practice, actively applying Catholic Social Teachings. Strategies include actioning the Division faith theme, engaging staff in the Religious Education curriculum, and providing faith formation opportunities.
- Student Success: Supporting students' continuous growth to achieve proficiency or excellence in literacy and numeracy. This priority involves providing professional learning for teachers, enhancing literacy and numeracy outcomes, and utilizing data analysis to inform instruction.
- Integrated Student Support: Meeting the diverse needs of all students through excellent instruction and appropriate supports. Key strategies include refining the collaborative response model, building staff efficacy in responsive interventions, and proactively addressing mental health.
- Organizational Excellence: Ensuring students and staff experience success through equitable and inclusive decision-making and system processes. This includes increasing transparency through communication channels and continuing ongoing stakeholder engagement.
