The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Prairie Valley School Division, has reached a key milestone in the Greenall High School modernization and expansion project with the recent completion of the design phase and the launch of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to secure a general contractor.
Completion of the final design was an essential milestone for proceeding to RFP tender. The RFP process will identify a qualified contractor to carry out construction, ensuring the project is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
"This milestone demonstrates progress in strengthening school infrastructure to support student growth and programming needs," SaskBuilds and Procurement Minister Sean Wilson said. "Advancing to tender ensures this project is positioned for efficient and timely delivery."
"Our government continues to make strong investments in school infrastructure across Saskatchewan," Education Minister Everett Hindley said. "The upgrades and addition at Greenall High School are part of that commitment, helping ensure students have access to safe, modern spaces that support learning, activities and overall well-being."
The Greenall High School modernization and expansion project received approval in the 2023-24 Provincial Budget. The project includes renovations to the existing school and construction of a 1,050-square-metre addition, increasing school capacity.
The expanded facility will address key programming needs, including improved performing and visual arts spaces, enhanced student support areas and a new larger gymnasium to better serve students and the surrounding communities.
"We are excited about this step in the project as it brings us closer to the expansion and modernization of Greenall High School benefiting students across the many communities it serves," Prairie Valley School Division Board of Education Chair Janet Kotylak said. "This project will expand the learning environment, creating more space and improved facilities to support student success, diverse programming, and the needs of a growing community. We appreciate the continued partnership with the Ministries of Education and SaskBuilds and Procurement in moving this important work forward."
SBP continues to work collaboratively to deliver school infrastructure projects that enhance safety, reliability and learning environments for students and school communities across Saskatchewan.
The RFP is available on SaskTenders at www.sasktenders.ca. It will close on July 28, 2026.
