The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce a renewed partnership with the Stratford-based non-profit, Facile Perth organization. The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is proud to continue expanding this ongoing partnership, which was first introduced during the 2022-2023 school year.
Facile Perth serves people with a disability and their families, across Huron and Perth counties, helping them to plan for and build meaningful lives in their own communities. Through this partnership, Facile Perth offers facilitation and transition planning for students with a disability that attend either of Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board's two secondary schools, and their families.
Facile will also continue to work closely with the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board to share knowledge, and co-create presentations that will provide school teams with insights on building collaborations, community development, increasing access to future pathways, and meaningful planning for life after graduation. This collaborative effort is aimed at highlighting how what we do in our inclusive education system directly increases possibilities for students' futures.
Additionally, Facile Perth will aid students and families in finding meaningful opportunities within each students' home communities, with a focus on active citizenship, the world of work, and post-secondary and life-long learning opportunities.
The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board and Facile Perth are committed to ensuring that students and their families can access the necessary resources and support through intentional planning and programming. Together, we are working with community partners, employers, colleges, and service providers to identify and plan pathways to adult life beyond high school. Our joint goal is to identify and remove barriers that may impact school, as well as life beyond secondary school, with the hope of creating equitable access to opportunities for all.
