OCAD U President and Vice-Chancellor Ana Serrano welcomed Dr. Rebecca Malouin, director of MSU's Canadian Studies Center (CSC), to campus on April 3 to sign the MoU, which strengthens the relationship between the two post-secondary institutions. The schools have agreed to cooperate on projects of shared interest to benefit their respective students and faculty. The Canadian Studies Center is the longest-serving centre for the study of Canada in the United States. Dr. Malouin will act as MSU's liaison to implement the agreement.
The new memorandum enables the MSU and OCAD U to collaborate on joint research, exchange students and faculty and share technical assistance. It also confirms an ongoing cooperative relationship that has included Faces and Traces: A Cross-Border Portrait Project, an exhibition of cross-border-themed portraits between OCAD U, MSU and the State University of New York College at Geneseo.
The signing event was attended by Earl Provost, the Government of Ontario's Agent-General in Chicago.
