MACEWAN UNIVERSITY
MacEwan to celebrate Spring Convocation 2025

June 17, 2025

MacEwan University will award credentials to more than 2,400 individuals who will graduate from its degree, certificate and diploma programs. The achievements of graduates will be celebrated during six ceremonies at Edmonton's Winspear Centre from June 17 to 19, 2025.

These ceremonies will be the last for MacEwan's first chancellor, Dr. Anthony (Tony) Fields as he completes his historic four years in the role.

MacEwan is a place of exceptional undergraduate learning and students are given opportunities to grow in an environment that prepares them to join the workforce or continue their studies. More than 90,000 MacEwan alumni have gone on to contribute to the economic and social fabric of Alberta or wherever they took their skills.

Spring Convocation 2025 will also include ceremonies to award a Doctor of the University, honoris causa, to Beverley McLachlin, Bernie Makokis and Linda Wedman. Each of the Honorary Doctorate recipients will address the graduates.

All ceremonies will include performances by the MacEwan University Big Band, an Indigenous performance and an Indigenous honour song.
