Tilbury Area Public School is thrilled to announce a generous donation from the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA) through NHL player and recent Stanley Cup champion, Brandon Montour. This incredible contribution includes 50 brand new skates, helmets, and gloves, enabling the school to launch an exciting new skating program.
Brandon Montour, who attended Tilbury Area Public School, wanted to give back to his alma mater in a meaningful way. After discussions with the school, it was decided that supporting a skating program would be the perfect initiative. This donation not only provides essential equipment but also opens up new opportunities for LKDSB students to engage in physical activity and learn new skills on the ice.
The NHLPA, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is proud to highlight the positive impact its players have on their communities. This donation is a testament to the organization's commitment to giving back and supporting grassroots initiatives.
Kristen Fenlon, a dedicated teacher at Tilbury Area Public School, has been instrumental in getting the skating program off the ground this year. Her hard work and passion for the project have been invaluable. Additionally, LeeAnn Chamberlain, a retired LKDSB staffer who played a key role in initiating contact with Brandon Montour last year, is volunteering to help ensure the program's success.
