Student safety is our top priority at High Prairie School Division. To further protect students while they get on and off the bus, we are piloting an ( ) on one of our regular route buses. This safety feature extends . and is brightly lit to ensure motorists clearly see when a bus is stopped for loading or unloading.

While most drivers follow school bus safety laws, we continue to see instances of vehicles passing buses with their flashing lights and stop signs deployed. Failing to stop comes with a $567 fine and 6 demerits, but more importantly, it puts students at risk.
This pilot project is a proactive step to increase awareness and prevent potential accidents. We encourage all motorists to watch for school buses, obey traffic laws, and help keep students safe.
