HUMBER COLLEGE
Humber introduces new enrollment campaign, 'BRING IT', fostering an environment of bold, new action

January 20, 2023

Humber College is encouraging prospective students to bring their talents, creativity, potential and authentic selves to Humber in a bold and contemporary campaign called BRING IT

BRING IT is a recruitment campaign in collaboration with award-winning and multidisciplinary local artist Ben Johnston who created the typography and artwork for the campaign. Creative elements highlight Humber and the college's diverse community, programs and spaces.

BRING IT graphics and messages are aimed at prospective students, encouraging them to bring their talent, passion, drive and all that makes them unique to Humber. In turn, Humber will bring its best in providing a high-quality and engaging college and campus experience.

"BRING IT is about celebrating and supporting Humber's inclusive community of talented students with bold and motivational graphics and messaging that are reflective of who they are," said Kelly Jackson, vice-president external affairs and professional learning, Humber College. "Humber values every student's individual identity, interests, abilities and aspirations, and we provide a supportive and inclusive environment to enable students to achieve their goals. We hope BRING IT speaks to students and moves them to action in a unique and personal way."

BRING IT has a different look, feel and in-market execution than typical college recruitment campaigns and is a different approach for Humber.  Rather than relying on traditional student and campus photography, the creative stands out by using dimensional typography and vibrant graphic elements to connect directly with a diverse student audience. The BRING IT campaign includes a dedicated webpage, various digital and on-site activations, out-of-home and off-campus advertising, along with on-campus atmospherics. The visuals can be seen on campus, TTC buses, bus stops, social and digital media.

In the Spring, BRING IT will feature a wall-sized mural and live painting by Johnston at Humber's Lakeshore Campus. The mural, which will be open to the public, will reflect the college's commitment to public art, while showing what can happen when you 'BRING IT' at Humber.

"I'm inspired by creative partners who see a similar vision as I do in creating bold visuals that come to life. All the facets of the dimensional type represent the building blocks and the valuable inputs over the course of your journey at Humber," said Ben Johnston, artist and muralist. "Students will thrive to make an impact and the artwork is reflective of that. I'm excited to bring this to life with Humber College and look forward to the live mural painting of BRING IT in the Spring."

The BRING IT campaign was developed from market and environmental research including a survey of grade 11 and 12 students and analysis of GTA post-secondary marketing, recruitment and advertising campaigns. Borealis Creative is the creative agency behind the campaign strategy and bold new approach to this year's campaign.
