The highly anticipated Unbound Fashion Show is set to take place on April 6, 2024, at Fanshawe College. The yearly fashion show is an initiative to showcase the creative collection of its 13 third-year students on the runway. The students' collection is an amalgamation of creativity, innovation, and sustainability based on the United Nation's (UN) Sustainable Development Goals.
The Unbound immersive fashion event features stunning runway displays, music, a catered reception, champagne carpet photos and a chance to meet emerging designers.
The event promotes Sustainable Development Goal three of good health and well-being and goal 12 of sustainable consumption and production patterns.
The emcee for the Unbound 2024 is Myles Sexton. Myles is a Toronto-based creative director, stylist, makeup artist, HIV/AIDS and sobriety activist, queer fashion nomad and a recipient of the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards 2022 Digital Fashion Creator.
The attendees will have the opportunity to experience designers' creations in augmented reality (AR), allowing them an interactive viewing experience where they can customize designs with specific options within the AR.
Leigh-Ann Waller, fashion design coordinator and Unbound creative director says, "Unbound stands as a testament to the powerful fusion of community, industry experts and aspiring students. With the collective efforts of 12 Fanshawe College programs and the dedication of over 166 individuals, Unbound promises to be an unparalleled success and this year's must-attend event."
The event will be followed by a reception in the Canada Life Village Square featuring complimentary appetizers, a live DJ and signature mocktails.
