The artistic talent of Humber and University of Guelph-Humber students was on display as part of the 38th Annual Student Art Show.

The yearly celebration of creativity recognizes students and showcases their artwork. Entries were received in February while a panel of jurors convened on March 8 to select the winners.

The jury was comprised of professional artists and curators including Lauren Cheong, Ann Horton, Peter Perko, David Scott, David Vazquez-Abrams, Noni Kaur and Sheri Tenaglia. They named the first, second and third place winners along with honourable mentions in the Colour Photography, Digital Art/Other, Drawing, Monochromatic Photography and Painting categories.

More than $4,000 in prizes will be awarded and the winning art will be exhibited at the April 8 awards ceremony taking place at Lakeshore Campus.

"The Student Art Show offers all students at Humber and Guelph-Humber an opportunity to submit to a free student art competition," said Maggie Hobbs, event director. "This year, we received 394 art submissions. This inclusive program has become part Humber's artistic landscape and fabric."
