Seneca Polytechnic is introducing the first three-year bachelor's degrees in its history as part of a slate of eight new programs for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Science - Cosmetic Science programs draw on Seneca's strong history of providing a great polytechnic education, offering students a combination of academic rigour and career-based education that will prepare them for success.
These three-year degrees are among the first to be offered in Ontario by a postsecondary institution other than a university, having received approval from the Minister of Colleges and Universities this summer.
The new programs feature a shorter path to completion than four-year honours degrees and more accessible admission requirements. Qualified applicants can be admitted with Ontario high school credits from the C, M and U levels. The three-year degrees also offer seamless pathways to further studies at Seneca and beyond.
"Seneca is proud to add three-year degrees to our robust portfolio of credentials," said Marianne Marando, Vice-President, Academic and International. "These programs include industry-informed experiential learning opportunities and the transferrable human skills that will give our graduates a competitive advantage today and if they decide to change careers in the future."
In addition to the new degrees, Seneca is introducing two new diploma programs and three new graduate certificate programs to help prepare students for great careers:
- Business Management
- Marketing & Communications Strategy
- Medical Esthetics Nursing
- Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant
- Visual Content Creation
"Whether you are looking to start, advance or change your career, Seneca has the right program to help you realize your ambition," said Dr. Marando. "We are also offering more courses in hybrid and flexible formats, so that students can balance their busy lives and learn where and when makes the most sense for them."
Applications are now open for these new programs and more than 300 additional credentials available at Seneca, with start dates in September 2024, January 2025 and May 2025.
