Camosun College's Applied Learning, Co-operative Education and Career Services department, also known as the Career Lab, is transforming its approach to career networking with the launch of its first-ever Mega Career Fair. This two-day event, expanding from historically successful program-specific fairs, will connect students with over 120 industry leaders across multiple sectors, embodying the college's commitment to being your path to success'.
The fair will take place across both Camosun campuses with industry-specific focus days:
Interurban Campus - Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025

"By expanding to a mega fair format, we're not just creating a larger event, we're multiplying opportunities for our students," says Claudia Sperling, Applied Learning, Co-operative Education and Career Services Director. "This new approach reflects both the increasingly interconnected nature of modern industries and our commitment to providing every student their unique path to opportunity."

Julia Berezin, who completed her co-op term with Career Lab and helped organize the 2023 Career Fair, demonstrates this connection. Through her role in event planning and employer engagement, she met representatives from Reliable Controls, where she now works as a marketing professional.
"My journey from being a Career Lab co-op student to becoming an industry professional has been both rewarding and life-changing," Julia shares. "The support I received from the Career Lab - from refining my resume to honing my interview skills - laid a solid foundation for success. The 2023 Career Fair was a key moment for me; it provided the chance to connect with Reliable Controls, where networking led to a co-op opportunity and eventually a full-time role with an exceptional team."
Camosun's career fairs and student services have been instrumental in building professional futures, connecting countless graduates with meaningful career opportunities. This proven approach has created a powerful cycle of success, with many alumni returning as employers to recruit new talent.
Breyn Banks, who found his position at Orca Spirit Adventures through Career Lab's Education That Works career portal, represents how Camosun's career services create pathways to professional success.
"The resources that Camosun provided have been invaluable for my development," Breyn reflects. "Getting connected with my current employer Orca Spirit Adventures, through the Education That Works portal, helped set my career in motion and has made my dream of working with marine animals in the tourism and hospitality environment a reality. I am very excited to bring my company to the Mega Career Fair so we can help usher in the next generation of students from Camosun!"
Each campus event features a carefully curated selection of employers specific to the programs offered at that location. Students and alumni can:

The college will provide a limited complimentary lunch for early arrivals at each campus. Participants at both venues will have opportunities to win door prizes throughout the day.
The Mega Career Fair is open to all Camosun students and alumni at no cost.
