Vanier College is pleased to announce the appointment of Gillian Nycum, from the University Sector and Hugues Charbonneau from the Economic/Business Sector to the Vanier College Board of Directors. Both have been appointed for a three-year term.
Gillian Nycum is the Registrar/Executive Director of Enrolment Services at McGill University. Originally from Halifax, she has lived in Montreal for twenty-one years. A graduate of Dalhousie/King's (BA) and McGill (B.C.L./J.D.), Gillian's career spans health law, bioethics, government, non-profit startups, and creative industries as a musician manager and film producer. She is near completion of her International Coaching Federation certification and is passionate about leadership and group facilitation.
"I am really thrilled to have been selected as a member of the Board of Directors at Vanier College. Fairly new to this kind of role, I look forward to contributing my insights from the perspective of a senior administrator and strategic lead in higher education. I am also looking forward to learning more about Vanier and their students, CEGEPs, and the Quebec post-secondary sector through a new lens," said Gillian.
Hugues Charbonneau is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in the apparel manufacturing industry. His extensive career includes various leadership roles in supply chain, operations, logistics, and warehousing. He is currently President of YKK Canada. In addition to this role, Hugues is a member of the Board of Directors at CTT Group, a prominent organization in the textile industry. He also serves as an executive member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce of Ville St-Laurent- Mount Royal and Westmount. "I feel I can contribute to the Board of Directors at Vanier College as there is a will from myself and YKK that we help and work with our local communities and that there are natural synergies".
The College would like to take the opportunity to welcome the new members to the Board and thank them for their involvement.
