We are proud to share that Ajay Patel, president and CEO of Vancouver Community College (VCC), has been inducted to the Canada Games Hall of Honour - Class of 2025.

Ajay was present at the opening ceremony on August 8, 2025, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, to accept the award, ahead of the start of the 2025 Canada Summer Games which take place from August 8-25.
The Canada Games Council recognizes exceptional alumni who have made a lasting impact through sport, leadership, and community involvement. Ajay joins a distinguished group of individuals whose contributions have helped shape the Canada Games movement across the country.
Ajay was inducted into the Hall of Honour in the "Builder" category, a notable achievement that reflects his contributions to leadership in sport. He served as Mission Staff and Chef de Mission for Team BC at six consecutive Canada Games between 2001 and 2011. He has also held significant positions in sport administration and governance, including board roles with Sport BC and as CEO of Gymnastics BC.
Ajay is also a respected leader in the community and has been recognized for his community contributions as one of Canada's Top Immigrants and was named to Vancouver Magazine's Power 50 List in 2024 and 2025.
"It's an honour to be recognized by an organization that shares VCC's values of inclusion, perseverance, and community," said Ajay. "The Canada Games played a formative role in my early years and I want to extend my appreciation to all Team BC athletes, coaches and mission staff. I learned so much from all of you during my time with Team BC, and have and I've carried those lessons of teamwork and purpose throughout my life and leadership."
