HOLLAND COLLEGE
Visual Arts Students to Present Annual Showcase

April 7, 2026

The School of Visual Arts at Holland College will present its annual student showcase from April 16 to May 24 at the Upper West Gallery in the Confederation Centre of the Arts, Charlottetown.

This year's theme, Embracing Chaos, explores unpredictability in creative work. Students were assigned a combination of elements, including locations, emotions, objects, time periods and colours, and challenged to incorporate them into their final pieces.

The exhibition features graduating students from the Fundamental Arts, Graphic Design, Photography and Videography, and Video Game Art and Animation programs.

April Condon, an instructor in the Graphic Design program, said during their programs, the students dedicate themselves to developing creative and technical skills in preparation for this showcase.

"Our soon-to-be graduates have developed strong creative and problem-solving skills throughout their studies. This showcase highlights their ability to bring everything together, to adapt, think critically, create meaningful work, and share their talent with the public," said Condon.

Members of the public are invited to attend the exhibition's opening reception April 16 at 3 p.m., where they will have the opportunity to view the artwork and interact with faculty and students from the program. Admission is free.

Beyond celebrating individual student achievement, the event also demonstrates the College's commitment to fostering creative talent and contributing to the broader cultural landscape.

The exhibit can be viewed during the gallery's regular operating hours.
