Sudbury's three post-secondary institutions commit to enhanced collaboration

On Monday, June 6, the Presidents of Sudbury's three post-secondary institutions signed an agreement that will enhance collaboration and partnerships between the organizations that they lead.

This new agreement aims to foster excellence in learning and will strengthen Greater Sudbury's reputation as an education destination.

Cambrian College President Bill Best, Collège Boréal President Pierre Riopel, and Laurentian University President Dominic Giroux signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which includes new commitments to:

1. Increase educational mobility between the three institutions through:
   • Credit transfer
   • Creation of new pathways
   • Collaboration on course/program development and delivery
2. Reduce duplication while maximizing resources and leveraging partnership opportunities.
3. Provide a source of human resources, which complements the development of the province's economy and meets the demands of an increasingly global labour market
4. Support Greater Sudbury's goal of enhancing our community as a postsecondary destination of choice
