Marianopolis College Director General Christian Corno announced the appointment of Eric Lozowy, PhD, as the College's Academic Dean, effective July 31, 2017.

With a Master's in Russian and Slavic Studies from McGill University and a PhD in Comparative Literature from l'Université de Montréal, Dr. Lozowy pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at UQAM and taught at McGill. He has been at Vanier College since 2003, first as a faculty member in the French and Modern Languages Department and later as the Coordinator of the French Department and the Coordinator of the Slavic Studies Major. In 2011 he was appointed Dean of Science and General Studies, a post he held until 2016 when he was named Dean of General Education. Dr. Lozowy plays a lead role in organizing the upcoming 2017 AQPC (Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale) Annual Symposium.

"The search committee was unanimous in supporting Eric's candidacy, particularly given his passion for education, his proven commitment to academic excellence and student success, and the many innovative projects he has undertaken over the years," said Director General Corno. "In light of his varied academic experience, notably in developing and implementing academic policies and program reforms at Vanier, I am fully confident that Eric has both the skills and the background to ensure that the academic mission of Marianopolis will be nurtured."
