The Algonquin Students' Association Faculty Recognition Awards were established to provide students with an opportunity to show their appreciation to faculty members who made a significant impact during their stay at Algonquin College.
A selection committee made up of Algonquin students, compile the nomination forms and choose the recipients of the award based on who demonstrated the ability to convey enthusiasm, responsibility in teaching practices, approachability and effective communication skills, going well beyond the call of duty.
The winners of this award are then honored at the Faculty Recognition Dinner surrounded by the students that nominated them, and are presented with an Excellence in Teaching Award by their students. The following Professors were honored:
- Kim Drake from the Pembroke Campus
- Jane Cunningham from the Perth Campus
- Norman Hotchkiss from the Ottawa Campus
- Shannon Reid from the Ottawa Campus
- Graham Longair from the Ottawa Campus
The Students' Association also awarded Dave Donaldson the Chris Warburton Award of Excellence for all his contributions and unwavering support with entrepreneurship on campus.
