The competition, open to second year business students at Keyano, mirrors the provincial Alberta Deans of Business annual competition. Students are assigned a business case describing a business scenario either real-life or created they then perform their own analysis and present their findings to a panel of judges.

Keyano College Chair of Business, Nermin Zuki? said, "This competition is important to both the students and the College. As a college, it's important for us to connect with the business community of Fort McMurray and showcase the talent of our students. For the students, it's an opportunity to develop key presentation, analytical and academic skills. We were very pleased with all of our participants and extremely grateful to our sponsors, Scotiabank, as well as our supporters from local businesses who made up our panel of judges".

The first place team received $3,000. Teams placing second and third were awarded with $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. The winning team, High Five, will progress to the provincial event, which is being hosted by Norquest College and MacEwan University on March 22-24, 2018, in Edmonton, where they will face the top teams from more than a dozen Alberta colleges.
