TECHNOLOGY ACCREDITATION CANADA
TAC Accredits Five Programs at NAIT

Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) presented the faculty at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) certificates recognizing national program accreditation for five of the institute's engineering technology and applied science programs (see below).

The accreditation involved audits of each program, including interviews with employers of graduates, alumni, students and faculty. Across the programs, audit teams noted the delivery of broad curriculum, which provides graduates with employment opportunities in various sectors of their respective industries, supported by highly engaged faculty committed to student success. The audits also revealed positive input from program advisory committees and students entering the workplace with strong technical skills and the ability to successfully adapt to new techniques and technologies. 

"We congratulate NAIT, the administration and faculty of the five programs for this significant achievement," commented Richard Stamper, TAC Executive Director. "By meeting the standards of the profession, these programs have clearly demonstrated their leadership and commitment to their students and industry."

Additionally, accreditation provides an expedited path to professional certification through The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta and other provincial engineering technology and applied science associations across Canada. 

"I'd like to thank TAC for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our staff," said Stewart Cook, Dean of NAIT's School of Applied Sciences and Technology. "The accreditation of these five programs affirms NAIT's commitment to our students and to the industries we serve," he added.
