After a comprehensive search and interview process with highly qualified candidates, we are pleased to announce that Pablo Vargas has accepted the role of Dean of Continuing Studies, effective Monday, August 24.
Pablo joined the Continuing Studies department in May 2016 as the Manager of Budget and CS Administration. In this position, he was responsible for the department's strategic administration, overseeing effective operations, and the financial performance of the department and its divisions. Prior to joining Langara College, he held several positions in the private sector, most notably as a Regional Administrative Manager and Operations & Service Lead for Shoppers Home Health Care in Vancouver.
Pablo has demonstrated excellent strategic and operational leadership and has significant experience in resource planning, implementing best practices, and progression planning. In this new position, Pablo will focus on policy development, implementing department initiatives in line with the College's strategic plan, and continue to lead the department as we develop a new vision for Continuing Studies.
Pablo holds a Masters degree in Health Administration from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Commerce & Marketing degree from Technologico de Monterrey, Mexico where he also participated in an exchange with the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business
