CAMBRIAN COLLEGE
Tops in Canada! College Student Aces National Certification Test

October 22, 2021

Cambrian College is celebrating the success of Power Engineering Technology student Matthew Aniol of Sudbury.

3rd year Student Matthew Aniol of Sudbury receives the PanGlobal Power Engineering national Outstanding Achievement Student Award from Cambrian College President Bill Best. Aniol placed first nationally in the Power Engineering 3rd Class test.

Aniol is a recipient of the PanGlobal Outstanding Achievement Student Award. Earlier this year, Aniol had the highest marks nationally in the Power Engineer 3rd Class test.

The tests were administered by PanGlobal, a publisher of learning materials for the power engineering industry. Individuals practicing in the Operating Engineer field in Ontario must complete a series of regulatory examinations, supported largely by the PanGlobal material, in addition to obtaining practical, hands-on training in order to obtain their certification.

A plaque recognizing Aniol's accomplishment has been mounted in Cambrian's Trades and Training Centre.

"This award reflects Matt's exemplary academic success and first-place finish in the exam, in which he competed against Power Engineering candidates from across Canada," says Chris Paci, Cambrian's Dean of Skilled Trades. "Well done, Matt, and we wish you continued success in your future endeavours."

Aniol is in the final semester of the Power Engineering Technology program. Cambrian College is the only college in Northern Ontario offering a Power Engineering Program, and one of only seven in the province.
