The North Vancouver School District is pleased to announce North Vancouver Online Learning (NVOL) has been selected by the Ministry of Education and Child Care to become a Provincial Online Learning School (POLS).
The new online learning model is part of the Ministry of Education and Child Care's work to improve equity of access to inclusive and effective online learning communities that are culturally relevant for all students in the province.
Commencing September 2023, students across the province will be able to enrol in NVOL courses. NVOL will continue to deliver high-quality online learning programming in English and French and through a new Learning Management System--to serve the needs of not only students who reside within the school district but also students across the province.
"NVOL's mission is to provide students with flexible, innovative and personalized pathways to graduation through interactive and engaging online experiences," said Jennifer Tieche, Vice Principal, North Vancouver Online Learning. "Staff are committed to student success by aligning online learning experiences with students' goals and priorities."
Students and families across the province interested in learning more about anywhere, anytime and on any device learning experiences through North Vancouver Online Learning are invited to visit the North Vancouver Online Learning website.
About North Vancouver Online Learning
North Vancouver Online Learning (NVOL) is both an online and physical secondary school that operates out of Mountainside Secondary. Students choose NVOL for flexible, personalized pathways to earn the B.C. Certificate of Graduation ("Dogwood Diploma"), Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires en Colombie-Britannique, or B.C. NVOL is a continuous enrolment school, offering "anywhere, anytime" learning to support individual differences in ways that foster academic success and a sense of belonging. Students can enrol at any time during the school year. Once enrolled, students may go at their own pace, taking up to one calendar year to complete a course.
