CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
CSPNE and UOF launch eco-friendly challenge

April 26, 2023

As part of the 25th anniversary and Earth Day celebrations on April 22, the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) and the Université de l'Ontario français (UOF) launched an art challenge this week to all members of their respective school and extended communities.

As an official partner in the 25th anniversary celebrations, the UOF proposed the activity, which encourages CSPNE students to create an artistic work using recycled or recyclable materials related to the theme of diversity and inclusion.

In keeping with the idea of a challenge that promotes environmental responsibility, suggestions for projects other than artwork were provided to staff and community members.

The challenge will not only allow students and community members to compile mileage for the CSPNE's Grand 25+ Challenge, but will also raise awareness of the programs offered at the Université de l'Ontario français, including the Bachelor of Arts degrees in Urban Environmental Studies, Economics and Social Innovation, Human Plurality, and Digital Cultures.

The CSPNE would like to thank, among others, the Université de l'Ontario français for their generous contribution to the 25th anniversary activities.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
