The Council of Commissioners of the Lester B. Pearson School Board is pleased to announce it has approved a decision to reappoint Cindy Finn to the position of Director General of the Lester B. Pearson School Board. The decision was taken on February 26 during a regular meeting of the LBPSB's Council of Commissioners.

"Dr. Cindy Finn's vast experience and career in education, as well as her unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation at the Lester B. Pearson School Board, are exemplary. Dr. Finn navigates the demanding and challenging job of Director General in a highly respectful and exceptionally well-informed manner. It is an honour for the Council of Commissioners to appoint Dr. Finn to continue in the position of Director General of the LBPSB for the next 5 years," said Judith Kelley, Chairperson of the Council of Commissioners.
Ms. Finn's second mandate is effective July 1, 2024. Her reappointment follows a recommendation by the Director General Evaluation Committee to renew Ms. Finn's mandate.

I am extremely proud of the LBPSB and the ongoing commitment demonstrated by our dedicated and passionate employees who serve the students in our care to ensure they receive the best quality of education possible. There are numerous challenges that lie ahead for all English school boards in Quebec, and I am delighted to continue to contribute to our collective mission," said Ms. Finn.
Cindy Finn has been Director General of the Lester B. Pearson School Board since August 2019. Prior to this, she was Director of Student Services at the LBPSB for 14 years and has worked in various schools as a psychologist. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from McGill University and was a founding member of the Centre of Excellence for Mental Health which is housed at the LBPSB. She is presently Chair of the Leadership Committee for English Education in Quebec and was also on the Education Ministry's Advisory Board for English Education. Currently, she is on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of School System Administrators and is completing her second term as a member of the Board of Governors for the American Association of School Administrators.
