The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the approval of significant funding from the Ministry of Education's 2023-24 Capital Priorities Program. This funding will support key projects to accommodate the growing needs of our school communities and enhance already existing facilities.

Angus Catholic Elementary School
$24,334,001 has been allocated for a new Catholic elementary school in Angus. This includes $22,083,101 for the school and $2,250,900 for a childcare centre. The new school will have a capacity of 516 students along with a 3-room child care center with 49 spaces.
Wasaga Beach K-12 Catholic School
A substantial investment of $57,728,844 has been approved for the new Wasaga Beach K-12 Catholic school, with $55,470,744 dedicated to the school and $2,258,100 to child care. This new school will have a capacity of 1,008 students along with a 3-room child care centre with 49 spaces. The school will be located within a community hub in collaboration with the Town of Wasaga Beach, adjacent to the new Town twin-pad arena and library. The school cafeteria will also function as a town theater, and partnerships with Canadore College and Lakehead University will provide programs after school hours.
Holy Trinity Catholic High School Addition
Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford will receive $6,832,647 to fund a 12-classroom addition accommodating 276 additional students.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School Addition
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham has been allocated $8,582,760 for a 12-classroom and single gym addition, accommodating an additional 276 students.
Many families continue to choose to send their children to a Catholic school and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board appreciates this support from the Ministry of Education. This funding will enable our board to continue providing high-quality, faith-filled education in state-of-the-art facilities that meet the needs of our growing communities.
