During the June 11th board meeting, the District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) voted in favour of the budget for the 2024-2025 school year.
The DSB1 budget process began earlier this year by engaging the community, preparing projections and reviewing the newly updated Core Education Funding formula. The Trustees had the opportunity to review the budget in details prior to the June 11 Board Meeting. This process demonstrates the connections between the budget and the implementation of the DSB1 Strategic Plan.
Chair of the Board, Steve Meunier, expressed his satisfaction with the budget proces, stating, "DSB1 Trustees are pleased to approve this balanced budget that supports students and the continuation of our Strategic Plan. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Director Dye and Administrative Council for their hard work in bringing us a balanced budget."
The operating budget approved is in the amount of $158,200,915. The Board also approved the capital budget estimate in the amount of $20,313,180.
The total staffing complement approved for the school year is 1,046.8 Full Time Equivalents (FTE).
