The Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA) and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) recently announced the recipients of the first annual Healthy Democracy Student Leadership Award.
The scholarship was awarded to one graduating English public school student in each of OPSBA's regions.
Receiving the scholarships for Central West, was UGDSB grad and former Student Trustee, Julia Elmsie.
Elmsie was Student Trustee for the board during the 2022-2023 school year when she was a student at John F. Ross CVI and recently graduated from the school.
