Congratulations to Val Windsor, Chair of the Delta Board of Education and Curtis Miller Joe, Child and Youth Care Worker at Burnsview Secondary. On September 12, they were presented with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for their dedication and service to their community.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023. This commemorative medal recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to Canada, their province, territory, region, or community. The medal is awarded to those who were alive on the date of The King's Coronation and have shown exceptional dedication to their communities.
Val and Curtis received their medal alongside Alex Sangha from Sher Vancouver, a registered charity for South Asians who are LGBTQ+.
