OTTAWA CATHOLIC SCHOOL BOARD
OCSB 2023-2024 Annual Report: Celebrating Faith, Trustees, and the Strength of Community

November 13, 2024

Reflecting on the 2023-2024 school year, one thing is abundantly clear: the strength, compassion, and dedication of our OCSB community are truly inspiring. This year, with the dedicated support of our Trustees, families, staff, and students, we have cultivated environments where learning, faith, and empathy come together, enabling our students to flourish academically and grow into engaged, compassionate individuals.

Our Trustees play a vital role in our success. They provide strategic direction and steadfast support, ensuring that faith and community remain at the heart of every OCSB initiative. Their commitment to our vision and values helps create the foundation on which our schools thrive.

Guided by our Strategic Commitments Be Well, Be Community, and Be Innovative we have achieved remarkable milestones across our 87 schools. From strong EQAO scores and high graduation rates to acts of kindness and community engagement, this has been a year of accomplishment that extends beyond the classroom. Our students excelled in numerous areas, earning top honours in the arts, sports, French immersion, and even national cybersecurity awards. Many schools achieved Platinum ECO certifications, and our Board was once again recognized as a leader in energy conservation. These milestones speak to the dedication of our educators, families, Trustees, and, most importantly, our students, who make us proud each day.

This year, we welcomed two new schools, St. Bernadette and St. Juan Diego, bringing vibrancy and a renewed sense of connection to their neighbourhoods. With the support of our Trustees, local communities, and families, these schools quickly became spaces of learning and belonging.

Our deepest gratitude goes to our parents and guardians who strengthen our school communities through their involvement. Whether volunteering, attending events, or participating in key committees like SEAC, PIC, CSPA, and IEAC, your contributions are invaluable to our mission. Thank you for being an essential part of our OCSB family.

We are truly grateful to the Most Reverend Archbishop Marcel Dampjousse for celebrating mass before the release of our Annual Report. His presence and blessing were a powerful reminder of our strong partnership with the Diocese of Ottawa-Cornwall. This relationship continues to enrich the spiritual foundation of our schools and the broader community we serve.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Here's to another inspiring year together!
