Congratulations to Silver Creek Elementary School, they were one of three classes from across BC selected as winners in the FireSmart BC Classroom Contest.
In the fall of last year, the students participated in the FireSmart BC Education Program which asked students to submit photos of themselves learning about wildfire prevention and safety. Their hard work earned them a special pizza party on January 10, featuring none other than Ember the FireSmart Fox! The day kicked off with a FireSmart presentation where students learnt about fire safety, fire science and wildfire prevention.
Representatives from FireSmart BC, CSRD and Silver Creek Fire Department joined the fun, making it a day full of learning and delicious pizza! Great Job Silver Creek Elementary!
