Niagara Catholic is an outstanding place to work, according to the Canada's 2025 Best Employers list, which was released by Forbes Tuesday, January 28.
Niagara Catholic was ranked 101 out of 300 Canadian employers included in 2025.
The board is top-ranked among six Canadian school boards included on the list and is one of two Niagara-based employers recognized by Forbes this year. The list focuses on employers with 500 employees or more, and includes public and private sector employers, including K-12 education, colleges and universities, health care, municipalities, and technology, food service, and retail companies.
"I was appointed Director of Education at Niagara Catholic in 2020, and when I arrived, I knew I was joining an outstanding organization," said Camillo Cipriano. "Niagara Catholic fosters an inclusive culture where everyone is welcome and celebrated as beloved children of God.
Through the leadership of our Human Resources team, supported by senior staff and trustees, Niagara Catholic continues to build leadership in our schools and sites and to find new ways to engage all staff in ways that recognize their value to the organization. We offer excellent benefits and professional development and growth opportunities, empowering principals, supervisors, and managers to encourage staff to put their names forward for leadership roles and support them on their leadership pathway. I am truly fortunate to lead a team of 3,000- plus passionate and committed staff who go to work every day with the singular goal of enriching the lives of our students and their colleagues and am grateful that our staff consider Niagara Catholic an incredible place to spend their career."
Julia Tiessen, Niagara Catholic's Executive Officer of Human Resources, said creating a culture of community is a shared responsibility.
"We're proud to celebrate this success, but we're mindful that this is a snapshot in time," she said. "Building a culture of community reaches every single employee in a shared purpose of service, grounded in our values. It is to empower our staff to develop and shine, and to listen and constantly challenge ourselves to improve. We know that Niagara Catholic is a great place to work, and we are grateful for this recognition amongst top employers. But our greatest blessing is the commitment from each and every member of our Niagara Catholic community, as we build for our future."
