HALTON DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
HDSB appoints Oakville Trustee (Wards 5 & 7)

May 5, 2025

At its Special Board meeting on Wednesday, April 30, the Halton District School Board appointed Audrey Wubbenhorst as Trustee for Oakville Wards 5 & 7.

The appointment process was initiated after Oakville (Wards 5 & 7) Trustee Kelly Amos formally announced her intention to retire in June. In accordance with the Ontario Education Act (221.1) and the HDSB's Filling a Trustee Vacancy Governance Procedure, the Board opted to fill the vacancy through an appointment process, in which the successful candidate was chosen at a special board meeting open to the public.

Audrey Wubbenhorst will be formally sworn in to serve on the Board of Trustees by the end of June and will serve as a Trustee until Nov. 14, 2026 (end of the current term). Audrey brings a diverse background of professional and community experience to the role, including experience in governance, post-secondary education and financial services. Audrey's background includes work in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on research, policy and stakeholder engagement. With a demonstrated interest in public education, advocacy and community engagement, Audrey has expressed her commitment to supporting student success and well-being.
