Announcement of nine Étincelles Award recipients

The names of the recipients of the third annual Étincelles awards were announced this week.

Launched in 2023, the award recognizes original approaches and initiatives that help create learning environments where students can thrive, develop a lifelong love of learning and become ethically and actively involved in society.

"Congratulations to all recipients," said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Claire Johnson. "Each and every one of you embodies the effort and passion that give our education system its reputation across the country. Your hard work, leadership and dedication to our students is truly inspiring. Thank you for continuing to build a bright future for our children."

From the many nominations submitted, nine were chosen to receive awards. The provincial government will be providing a $1,500 grant to each recipient to go toward projects and initiatives that enhance the quality of learning environments for students.

The 2025 recipients are:

Francophone nord-ouest school district

Preschool component

·         Garderie chez Nini (Saint-Quentin): Self-awareness tree

School component

·         Polyvalente Thomas-Albert (Grand Falls): Christmas community breakfast

Francophone nord-est school district

Preschool component

·         Garderie la Forêt des Découvertes (Bois-Joli, Balmoral district): Together, let's make literacy shine at daycare

School component

·         La Mosaïque du Nord (Bois-Joli, Balmoral district): Haunted house

·         École Léandre-LeGresley (Rivière-du-Nord, Grande-Anse district): Belonging at ELL

Francophone sud school district

Preschool component

·         Family Resource Centre (Nouvelle-Arcadie, Rogersville district): Family literacy competition

School component

·         École Blanche-Bourgeois (Beausoleil, Cocagne district): Student community involvement at ÉBB

·         École Camille-Vautour (Champdoré, Saint-Antoine district): "Cami" action initiative

·         École L'Odyssée (Moncton): Flexible teaching in a fun, stimulating learning environment

"In our schools and daycares, students learn in environments filled with innovative ideas, led by committed educators who help them grow and develop their skills," said Johnson. "This award celebrates these efforts and the people who make this possible. On behalf of the department and the province, thank you for your outstanding work."
