This Thanksgiving, the students and staff of Heath Elementary School had an extra reason to celebrate: a stunning new mural now graces the exterior of their building.
Local artist Jason Craft who previously designed the school's Thunderbird logo in February 2024 returned to lend his talents once again. His latest creation stretches across the north side of the school, facing 72 Avenue, and serves as a tribute to the natural beauty that surrounds Heath Elementary.

"The school sits on the eastern edge of the Burns Bog Ecological Conservancy, nestled in a forested area next to Cougar Creek," explained Principal Kelly Reeve. "It's a truly special setting that offers a rich, natural learning environment for students."
To capture that essence, Craft drew inspiration from photographs of the cedar forests close to the school, as well as ideas and feedback from staff and the wider school community. The result is a mural that not only reflects the local landscape but also celebrates the school's connection to nature.
"We're absolutely thrilled with the mural," Mrs. Reeve added. "The response from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. It's a great reflection of who we are and where we learn."
