Students created warm shelters to support the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. These dog houses are now at Constance Lake First Nation, one of many northern communities where there is an ongoing and urgent need for additional dog houses. Students created these shelters to ensure that dogs have a safe and dry place to rest, protecting them from cold winds, snow, and frostbite during the harsh winters.
With these dog houses, not only will the animals in Constance Lake First Nation have a shelter for the winter, but they will also provide their caregivers with the comfort of knowing their animals are warm and dry during the winter months.
Thank you to the Construction SHSM students for demonstrating the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations of a Collaborative Contributor and A Caring Family Member.
